 Stephen began his stone carving journey at the age of 16 after leaving secondary school, working with his Dad in the garden sheds, where they made hand carved garden curiosities in local Derbyshire stone , after a few years of learning with his Dad the family business expanded to bigger premises in Sheffield. Stephen worked as head mason at this location gaining over 25 year’s experience in the trade, learning from master stone masons. He worked late evenings and weekends teaching himself the art of stone carving and began a Facebook page as a hobby, a carving journey that he shared with his ever growing audience. In June 2020 He set up his own business as Natural Stone Carved Creations in the beautiful village of Grindleford the Peak District taking all the years of knowledge and learning with him, creating commissioned pieces and one off sculptures in stone that suits all weather conditions and lasts for generations!
